The Maldives are located in the Indian Ocean like a necklace of broken pearls and consist of
approximately 1,190 coral islands, forming 26 atolls.
There are currently approximately 172 hotels built on the islands,
with most of them being one resort or hotel on each island.
We have personally visited more than 50 resorts in the 5* and 5* deluxe & luxury segments,
where from our own experience we can say that when you arrive at the right and most suitable
resort for you, the feelings are indescribable. In the Maldives, you experience a true

Maldives (officially the Republic of Maldives) is an island nation located in the Indian Ocean. It lies south of India’s Lakshadweep Islands and approximately 700 km southwest of Sri Lanka. Often described as a split pearl necklace, the Maldives consists of around 1,190 coral islands forming 26 atolls. There are roughly 172 hotels across the islands, with most islands hosting a single resort.

  • Capital city (and largest city): Malé
  • Currency: Maldivian Rufiyaa (MVR). Tourists can pay in cash using USD or EUR at hotels, as well as cashless payments by card.
  • Language: Dhivehi (official language). Arabic, Hindi, and English are also commonly spoken.
  • Local Time: GMT (Riga) + 2 hours (changing up to +3 hours depending on the time of year).
