Seaplane (small aircraft)takes off and lands on the ocean. It’s the most popular way to reach the islands and an experience you’ll definitely want to have! From the seaplane, you’ll get the most breathtaking views of the unique Maldivian archipelago. Flight time typically ranges from 15 to 65 minutes, depending on the island’s distance from Malé.
Please note that seaplanes operate only during daylight hours, approximately from 7 AM to 5 PM, due to safety regulations. Multiple flights to each resort are scheduled daily, with departure times adjusted as closely as possible to match guests' international flight schedules.
The best resorts have their own private lounges, equipped with snacks and non-alcoholic drinks, where you can relax comfortably while waiting for your seaplane or domestic flight departure.
Please note that seaplane flights may include stopovers on other islands before reaching your resort. For guests who value comfort and privacy, private seaplane transfers are available. This option can be more cost-effective when traveling to the Maldives with family or friends.
Speedboat or yacht. This is the most convenient transfer option. A big advantage is that upon arrival in Malé, you don’t have to wait long, as you’re quickly taken directly to the island.
Domestic flight (local airlines). It also operates after 5 PM and is the most suitable transfer option for those arriving in Malé later, that is, after 5 PM.
Combined – Domestic flight + speedboat. This transfer is arranged for resorts located farthest from Malé and takes the longest time.
